Library Hours
"Providing patrons with the best library service possible." Please be sure to bring your Library card when you visit the Library, as it is a matter of policy that it be presented at the time of checkout. It also provides speedier access to the internet in the Library. You are required to present your library card in order to permit staff to access your patron account. Approved 08/03 The Library has partnered with the W. Brookfield Elementary School to offer a receptacle for unwanted books (including both text and audio books), videos and dvds. Located at the back entrance of the school, the container is available to the general public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What's more, your donations will enable the school to receive cash each time the receptacle is filled. Spread the word, and help us while benefiting yourself! Children are always welcome at the Merriam-Gilbert Public Library. Our Children's collection contains a wide variety of books (print, cd, and digital), magazines, cdroms, music, and movies (video and dvd). However, staff do not screen or monitor patron usage of any library materials or services. Likewise, the Internet is available to children with the same right to access as adults, accorded by the American Library Association Library Bill of Rights. Therefore, it is the responsibility of parents and/or caregivers to supervise their children to insure their safety as well as maintain their particular family values. Sharing the Library with your children is one good way to get them started in a lifetime enjoyment of the public library. Along with this freedom comes the responsibility to use the Library in an appropriate manner.
